ROPP & Metal Cap
Roll Over Pilfer Proof (ROPP) are mostly used on rigid containers. Most common applications are for Liquor, Medical, Pharmaceuticals, Beverages, Food, Agrochemicals, Edible oil, Lube oil and miscellaneous industries.
ROPP Closures made of aluminium are internationally accepted sealing devices which are fitted on glass, plastic and metal containers to prevent pilferage.
A simple twist breaks the pilfer-proof seal, thereby assuring the consumer of the purity of the product sealed. When the closure is fitted back on the bottle after part consumption of the product, it ensures that the contents are secure and does not evaporate or deteriorate fast.
The broad categories of ROPP closures can be defined as Plain Printed Caps, Top Embossed Caps, Knurl Embossed Chamfered Caps, Side Embossed Chamfered Caps, Deep Drawn Caps, Extra Deep Drawn Side dry offset printed caps etc.
Screw caps are the most commonly used means of sealing a container. Depending on the consumer requirements, modern technology has seen the improvement of closure design and materials to now cater for almost any conceivable type of cap.
The most commonly used diameter screw caps are 25mm, 28mm and 38mm caps. All of which can easily be sorted, orientated and applied using any of our fillers or stand-alone cappers. Height and diameter changes of the caps does not influence the application of the cap and we also cater for caps with a WAD insert, using induction sealing as a means of spill proofing the container.
All types of flats caps utilizing various specifically engineered cap sorters that can be supplied as part of the filler or as stand-alone equipment.
Sports caps are notably the most popular form of cap amongst consumers, especially for consumer goods that are consumed over a period of time, such water, juices and energy drinks.
Mostly used in the mineral water and beverage industry, closures most popular includes 28mm one-piece/two piece closures for still and carbonated drinks, 30mm one-piece closures for still drinks, 38mm one-piece closures and 45mm one piece closures suitable for 5L PET water bottles.
Sport closure ranges includes 28mm, 30mm, and 38mm sizes. Most flip-top sports closures includes 30mm and 38mm sizes. The comprehensive range available from various suppliers is suitable for a number of applications in the water, juice, edible oil, motor oil, chemical, paint and solvent industries to name but a few.
Our equipment can handle all types of sport cap closures utilizing various specifically engineered cap sorters that can be supplied as part of the filler or as stand-alone equipment.
Snap caps can be used on containers used for medical storage and consumer use, to normal consumer products such as edible oil and tubs with various consumer products.
It does not matter if the snap cap is to be applied on a bottle, vial, tub or a cup. The predetermining factor is which consumer area the product is intended for. Most dairy products, when in a 500ml or bigger container, will typically use a snap cap to ensure that the consumer can re-seal and re-use the product for more than one serving.
Tamper proofing is normally achieved by incorporating tamper proofing on the container and not on the cap itself, as is normal for standard screw on caps.
Our equipment can handle all types of snap cap closures utilizing various specifically engineered cap sorters that can be supplied as part of the filler or as stand-alone equipment. Our range caters for most consumer goods markets such as dairy, condiments etc. The client’s product and packing container will determine the solution required.
When a product is going through a retort process, such as the steri-stumpie (flavored milk similar to a milkshake), the sealing method will always be foil, as conventional plastic caps will not be able to withstand the heat. When a product is hot-filled, utilizing a foil seal is also a means of sterilizing the closure. A foil seal also tends to seal the container better preventing air to seep into the container and thus prolonging shelf life.
Typical applications could be on a bottle, tubs, cups and certain chemicals and dry products. A foil seal can be incorporated with a plastic screw cap after sealing.
Our equipment can handle all types of foil closures, either utilizing pre-cut foil lids or foil on a roll where the profile is cut out during production with a “foil punch”. Depending on the filler selection, the sealing method is selected by application.
Over-capping mostly is utilized where a container has been sealed using a foil lid and there is a consumer requirement that needs the container to be resealed after initial removal of the foil lid, for later use.
Typical applications will be mostly dairy products, when in a 500ml or bigger container, we will typically use a snap cap to ensure that the consumer can re-seal and re-use the product for more than one serving. This method of sealing is called over-capping.
On our equipment, there is no limitation to the type and diameter over-capping lid that we can apply on any bottle, tub or cup.
Cap Seal (Casulator)
Heat shrink capsules provide a simple and cost-effective over-seal for a wide range of products. It is a secondary seal that goes over a primary closure, providing a tamper seal that enhances the brand through design, hiding fill lines, product residue or oil separation resulting in a clean line finish. Ideal for sauces, salad dressings and very popular in the wine industry. The skirt is made from PVC or PET with an alluminium top foil for a complete seal.
