Ethics, integrity, respect, professionalism and excellence. These are the core values we continue to uphold in our product range, through our staff contingent and in our vision at Filmatic, Paarl, as we celebrate our 40th year of trading. Read on for our BUSINESS INSIGHTS at this momentous milestone.

 

Carbonated soft drinks, household cleaners, juice, mayonnaise, milk, peanut butter, edible oil, water, yoghurt – these are just a few of the products that we, at Filmatic, bottle for our many and varied clients. Our standards require that we tackle the bottling procedure in as ECOFRIENDLY a manner as possible. We therefore set about reducing waste and consumption and utilising eco-friendly materials, while recycling wherever we can in the following ways: by designing our equipment to minimise losses during production and to run for at least 30 years; by using effluent rainwater to test our equipment during manufacturing and ensuring that our suppliers do not over-utilise plastic packaging; and by ensuring that our equipment is manufactured from 100 percent recyclable materials and that the PET bottles we fill can be recycled after use.

 

An important aspect of our vision has always been to GIVE BACK to the surrounding communities. In this regard, we are proud to have tackled the following nine charitable initiatives over the period 2018 to 2019: on Mandela Day, 18 July 2018, our Management Team held a bread-baking marathon for the Heart NPO; in June and October 2018, we sponsored branded winter jackets and manufactured three much-needed whiteboards, respectively, for the Boland School for Autism; on Casual Day, 6 Sep 2018, Filmatic supported Sunfield Home in Wellington by purchasing 100 Casual Day stickers and encouraging staff to dress up as their “everyday heroes”; on Mandela Day 2019, staff again visited the Boland School for Autism – this time donating gift bags to the kids and helping with some much-needed handyman work; in August, our financial director Joubert Krige attended Sunfield Home’s annual Golf Day; and, in September, we supported the Ligstraal School in Paarl, by buying 100 Casual Day stickers to assist with their most pressing needs. Additionally, Filmatic staff members have donated blood each time the Western Cape Blood Transfusion Services has paid us a visit.

 

A random selection of staff members commented in the Fil-Mag-Ic publication (Q3) on what WORD/S COME TO MIND when they think of the Filmatic brand. This showcases the extent to which our people are #livingthebrand.

 

And last, but not least, managing director Riaan van Zyl, has enthused on this special milestone: “We have celebrated many highlights during the past 40 years. Our flagship Rotary Nett-Weight, Rotary Piston and Level Fillers remain the backbone of our product offering, along with our range of Tub and Linear Fillers. Filmatic has also successfully installed a number of Z-Italia Hot Melt Roll-Fed Labellers, which enjoy a healthy share of the local market. Further, by continuing to attend and exhibit at packaging exhibitions over the past 30 years, we have been able to ADHERE TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS and trends for the competitive benefit of our customers. Filmatic is, most of all, excited about the future and what we still have to offer.”
